Match Report Against Ngee Ann

*posting on behalf of PCD Nicole due to her bz touring schedule*

NTL Match – Coyotes vs Ngee Ann
Date: Saturday 8th September 2007
Time: 1pm
Venue: Turf City (Where else!)
Scores: 9 – 0 Coyotes in favour (Can I hear a Woop Woop!!)

MVP: Karen (Wooooooo!!!)
Most Tries: Khoo (Whooooo!!)
Team Player: Ho
Play Maker: Vie (Whooooo!!)

Saturday 8th September, 12.20pm, overcast skies and the ground still a little wet from the morning rain. PERFECT weather to play Touch in I must say. (Not a tad bit hot! Phew…)

By 1pm, as the first 6 gets ready to go onto the field to start the game, the referee decides to do a spot check on the length of the player’s fingernails!!! One by one players gets sent to the sideline to get their nails cut and to take off their accessories (earings…etc).

The game starts with Ngee Ann having possession of the ball and half the Coyotes team is biting their nails at the sideline, eager to finish their nail biting session to sub their teammates.

The confidence of the players in coyotes slowly rose as we kept scoring tries. More and more players broke through, Eda (She always does =D ), Khoo, Jane K and even our rookie Karen took the risk and broke through! (Though she got an earful after that… haha no offence babe we still love ya) This made her the MVP for our team for this game. As she finally took that step of faith and did what she had to do. Good Job Girl! Other new players who did exceptionally well are CC, great hands on the ball, you were always there for support. Shih Han, great stepping.

Even our Jane B scored a try (Well in our eyes, you scored a try even if the ref says other wise!) Eda broke through the defense line as dummy half and went for the try line, little did she know, JANE B was just behind her, ready to go for the score. Great chasing all the way girl!!

I must say that though our defense was not that perfect, I want to point out a hard working player, whom I saw, working her butt off during defense. HO!!! Incredible. From the sideline, I could see Ho taking the touch, backing five quickly and pushing off for the touch again. She just kept going and going. Bionic Women! Though she fell a couple of times during the game, which is normal for Ho, she has bloomed as a Touch player from the first time she played in Coyotes last year. It’s just the falling down bit. AHahaHAHahaha!!

In conclusion, we shouldn’t be too content with this game’s score. We should play every game like it is our last with no regrets. And no matter what happens, we should hold our heads up high and look back knowing we did our best.

Hugs,
nicole!!!
